Welcome to University Grove
University Grove is a neighborhood of 103 homes, located just West of the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The 5-block area was set aside for faculty and staff housing in the 1920's. Modern and traditional styles built over a period of sixty years represent an "architectural time capsule" of modern America, according to a 1989 article in the New York Times.
Located on the highest point in Ramsey County, the Grove has views of the University Golf Course to the North, and St. Anthony Park to the South. The landscape design also includes common areas in the center of each block.
An architect design was required for each home. Some of those represented are William Ingemann, Edwin Lunde, Rollin Chapin, Roy Child Jones, Thodes Robertson, Elizabeth & Winston Close, Robert Cerny, Harlan McClure, Carl Graffunder, Frank Kerr, Ralf Rayson, Tom Van Housen, Joseph Nichols, Richard Hammel, Michael McGuire and Thomas Horby.
The University still retains title and leases to the homeowners for an annual fee of $100. For information on purchasing a home in the Grove, please contact me at (651) 282-9650.
Each year, 5 or 6 homes are sold in the Grove. The following are examples of 4 styles sold in the last 2 years.
